Tempra forte: What is it and what is it for?

What is strong quenching?

Tempra forte®is a medicine that contains as an active ingredientparacetamol (acetaminophen), a chemical compound that belongs to the line of medicineswith analgesic and antipyretic effect, used as an auxiliary for a large number of pains in the body caused by various types of etiologies.

What is tempra forte for?

• The tempra forte® through its active ingredient, inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins in the central nervous system (CNS) blocking the generation of the painful impulse at the peripheral level and also acts on thehypothalamiccenter regulating temperature, thus achieving the relief of pain and the balance of body temperature.
• It is used to treat:
  • Pain of any etiology, of mild or moderate intensity such as headache, muscle, dental, joint, postoperative and menstrual pain. (2)
  • Bodyfever. (3)

Dosage and routes of administration of tempra forte

Tempra forte® is sold in abox of 24 tablets with a concentration of 650 mg of paracetamol. The administration is oral and its method of dosage for informational purposes may be as follows:

• Adults and children over 12 years of age: 1 tablet or 2 every 8 hours, not to exceed 6 tablets a day.

Side effects of tempra forte

Treatment with tempra forte®may cause some side effects in a certain patient population, such as the following:

• Possible appearance of allergic reactions due to contact with any component or excipient of the formula.
• Shortness of breath, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, orthroat.
• General malaise in the body.
• Rashes.
• Alterations in the results of hematological examinations.
• Hypoglycemia.
• Sterile pyuria.
• Hypotension.

Important: If during treatment with tempra forte® any of the indicated symptoms appear or any other not included, it is recommendedto discontinue its use and consult your doctor.

Contraindications and warnings of tempra forte

The use of tempra forte®is contraindicatedin the following situations:

• Hypersensitivity to any of the formula’s components.
• In patients under 12 years of age.
• In pregnant women.

You should know: Provide all the information about your health history to your doctor, before starting treatment with this drug.

Avoid if you have:

• History of hypersensitivity to paracetamol or acetaminophen.
• Kidney or liver failure.

Warnings:

• Pharmaceutical products such as tempra forte® must be administered with a prescription or prescription.
• Do not exceed the recommended dose or treatment time, if your doctor does not authorize it.
• Caution should be exercised with prolonged treatment in patients suffering from anemia, heart or lung conditions.
• If the discomfort persists after the end of the treatment, consult your doctor.
• Do not administer during the intake of alcoholic beverages.
• Do not use this medicine if you are taking other drugs that contain paracetamol.
