Dimethicone magaldrate is a medication combined with two active ingredients that are magaldrate and dimethicone , which belong to the line of drugs with antacid and antiflatulent effect , which help to relieve certain gastrointestinal discomforts.
What is dimethicone magaldrate used for?
- Dimethicone magaldrate is a drug that balances gastric pH, preventing episodes of gastric hyperacidity and also reducing gastric distension .
- It is used to treat:

Dosage and routes of administration of dimethicone magaldrate
Dimethicone magaldrate is usually available in a bottle as a gel, suspension sachets, and chewable tablets. The route of administration is oral and the dose for information may be as follows:
- In sachets for suspension: 1-2 sachets or 10 ml tablespoons 2 times a day .
- Tablets: 1 tablet, once or twice a day .
- Gel: 1 tablespoon of 10 ml, 6 times a day .

Dimethicone Magaldrate Side Effects
Treatment with dimethicone magaldrate may cause some of the following side effects in certain patients:

- On some occasions, metallic taste.
