Vannair®is the brand name of a combination medicine, which usesbudesonideand formoterol fumarate dihydrate(1) as active ingredients, two chemical compounds with antiasthmatic, bronchodilator, anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive and antiproliferative effectto treat someconditions in the respiratory system.

What is vannair for?
- Vannair® thanks to the mechanism of action of its main components,relieves the problems of patients with respiratory distressmainly due to its anti-inflammatory and relaxing action on the smooth muscles of the respiratory tract.
- It is used to treat:
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
- Asthma. (3)
Dosage and routes of administration of vannair
Vannair® comes as a box withan aluminium sachet bottle containing a 120-dose mouthpiece inhalerdevice supplied with 80/4.5 mcg or 160/4.5 mcg budesonide/formoterol. The administration is oraland the dosage as a guideline, may be as follows:
- Asthma: Adults 2 inhalations once or twice a day. Adolescents between 12 and 17 years of age, 2 inhalations once or twice a day and children between 6 and 11 years of age, 2 inhalations once or twice a day.
- COPD: Adult patient 2 inhalations once or twice a day. The maximum dose is 4 inhalations per day.
side effects of vannair
Clinical data indicate that the pharmacological use of vannair® may cause, in a certain patient population , some of the following adverse effects:
- Possible allergic reactions due to contact with any chemical component of the formula.
- Dermatitis, rash, urticaria, pruritus, and angioedema.
- Tremors and palpitations.
- Candida oropharyngeal infections.
- Mild throat irritation , cough , and dysphonia
- Pneumonia or bronchospasm.
- Risk of Sleep disturbances , depression or behavioral disturbance.
- Muscle cramps, headaches, nausea and dizziness.
Important: If any of these symptoms appear during treatment with vannair®, please discontinue use and consult your doctor .
Vannair contraindications and warnings
Vannair® treatment is contraindicated in the following cases:
- Patient hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula.
- During the pregnancy period.
- During breastfeeding .
- In children under 6 years of age.
You should know: Provide all the information related to your health history to your doctor, before starting treatment with this drug.
Avoid if you have:
- History of hypersensitivity to any of the components of vannair®.
Warnings:
- Pharmaceutical products such as vannair® must be administered with a prescription or prescription.
- In long-term therapy with this drug, its administration should not be abruptly interrupted.
- While using this medication, follow your doctor’s directions.
- Therapy with this drug should not be started during a severe exacerbation of asthma.
- Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
- Keep this product stored in a dry and cool place, away from high temperatures or excessive heat.
