What is proxalin plus for?
- Proxalin plus® is ananalgesic, antipyretic and non-steroidal anti-inflammatorymedication that serves to reduce pain and fever, as well as being anadjunct in antibiotic treatments inrespiratory tract infections.
- It is used to treat:
- Pain from mild or moderate trauma.
- Headache or earache.
- Paincaused by dental surgeries.
- Mild to moderate muscle aches.
- Pain that may occur after operative processes or after delivery.
- In the symptomatic treatment of malaise or fever caused by infectious processes. (2)
- In the therapy of inflammation for various causes, arthritis and bursitis. (3)
Dosage and routes of administration of proxalin plus
formulated
- Proxalin plus® 300 mg tablets: Adults 2 tablets initially and then 1 every 6 or 8 hours, for as long as the doctor indicates.
- Proxalin plus® suspension: Children from 2 to 3 years of age, 2.5 ml every 8 hours and children over 3 years of age, 5 ml every 8 hours.

Treatment with proxalin plus® can cause in certain patients some of the following Adverse reactions :
- Possible allergies due to contact with any component of the proxalin plus® formula.
- Rashes.
- Tinnitus, vertigo, nausea and vomiting .
- Risk of mucosal lesions, urticaria and pancytopenia
- May cause drowsiness, anaemia , and thrombocytopenia.
- Glossitis and neutropenia.
- Decrease in the level of white blood cells .
- Stomach upsets and headache.
Important: Discontinue use and consult your doctor if you notice any of these symptoms during treatment with proxalin plus®.
Contraindications and warnings of proxalin plus
Treatment with proxalin plus® is contraindicated in the following circumstances:
- Hypersensitivity to any of the components of proxalin plus®.
- In people who suffer from cyanotic states (loss of oxygen in the blood).
- In patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency.
- In patients who have suffered allergic reactions with the use of acetylsalicylic acid or other NSAIDs.
- During pregnancy or lactation .
- Acute gastritis or duodenal ulcer.
You should know: Provide all information about your medical history to your doctor, before starting treatment with proxalin plus®.
Avoid if you have:
- Anemia, acute gastritis or peptic ulcer .
- History of gastrointestinal disease .
- Restrictions on sodium intake .
Warnings:
- This pharmaceutical product should not be combined with taking anticoagulant drugs.
- It should not be administered to children under 2 years of age.
- Do not mix the consumption of this drug with alcoholic beverages.
- This medicine must be administered with prescription or medical prescription.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
- Store in a dry and cool place.
