What is zimeton?

Zimeton® is a compound medicine , made from enzymes such as pancreatin, dry extract of ox bile and dimethylpolysiloxane ( dimethicone ), which together help to optimize the digestion process in humans, joining the line of medicines called digestives. .

What is zimeton used for?

  • Zimeton® is used to treat and control certain digestive ailments , thanks to the fact that its components contribute to the breakdown of proteins, sugar, carbohydrates and fats obtained through ingested food, in addition to the degradation of nutrients, accelerates and stimulates the secretion of pancreatic enzymes and the expulsion of accumulated gases from the digestive process. 
  • It is used to treat: 
    • indigestion .
    • Dyspepsia due to excess food intake.
    • Gastroesophageal reflux.
    • gas .
    • Pancreatitis. (two)
    • Malabsorption steatorrhea.
    • Liver failure.
    • Problems assimilating fats (steatorrhea).
    • Flatulence and meteorism problems.

Dosage and routes of administration of zimeton

Zimeton® comes in a box with 40 tablets, each tablet containing 130 mg pancreatin, 50 mg dry extract of ox bile and 40 mg dimethylpolysiloxane . The administration is orally and the dose may be as follows:

  • Adults: Take 1 to 2 tablets, 3 times a day.

Zimeton Side Effects

The use of Zimeton® can cause some of the following side effects in certain patients :

  • Possible allergic reactions due to contact with any component of the formula.
  • There may be the presence of abdominal pain, vomiting , nausea, belching and upset stomach.
  • Dizziness, fainting, drowsiness, and disorientation may also occur.
  • Fever and feeling weak.
  • Tingling, lack of balance, inflammation of the tongue.

Important: If any of these symptoms or others not included in the list appear, please discontinue use and notify your doctor.

Zimeton contraindications and warnings

Zimeton® treatment is contraindicated in the following cases:

  • Hypersensitivity to any of the formula’s components.
  • Elderly patients with coagulation problems, kidney or liver failure.
  • During pregnancy or lactation .
  • Do not administer to children under 12 years of age.

You should know: It is advisable to provide your doctor with all the information regarding your health history , before starting treatment with Zimeton®.

Avoid if you have:

  • Medication with drugs for other pathologies, without consulting the doctor.
  • Obstruction of the biliary tract.
  • Acute pancreatitis.
