What is dalvear?

Dalvear® is the name of the trademark of a synthetic drug, whichuses as active ingredientsdropropizine and bromhexine, two chemical compounds belonging to the line of medicineswith peripheral sedative effect of cough, mucolytic and expectorant respectively, for the relief of some conditions of the respiratory system.

What is dalvear for?

  • Thanks to the active ingredients, dalvear®decreases sensitivity to free external particlesand acts as a peripheral sedative of cough in addition to restoring the viscosity and elasticity of bronchial secretion. All thisfavors the relief ofrespiratory conditionsin children and adults.
  • It is used to treat:
    • Coughof any etiology(2) and as an adjuvant in secretolytic therapy. (3)
    • Patients with conditions such as pharyngitis, tonsillitis,pharyngotonsillitis,laryngitisand acute or chronic tracheitis.
    • Irritative cough.
    • Chronic and acute bronchopulmonary diseases, even in the presence of patients with respiratory failure or bronchospasm.

Dosage and routes of administration of the dalvear

The presentation of dalvear® in formula for adults is in a 200 ml bottle of syrup, with a concentration of 0.300 g of dropropizine and 0.160 g of bromhexine hydrochloride.  The presentation for childrenis with 0.150 g of dropropizine and 0.80 g of bromhexine hydrochloride, with strawberry flavor. The administrationis by oral route and the dosage in an informative way can be the following:

  • Children over 12 years of age and adults: Take 10 ml every 8 hours for the time indicated by the doctor.
  • Children from 2 to 5 years of age: Take 5 ml every 8 hours for the time indicated by the doctor.
  • Children from 5 to 12 years of age: Take 10 ml every 8 hours for the time indicated by the doctor.

Side effects of dalvear

Therapeutic treatment with dalvear® may cause some of the following adverse effects in a certain patient population:

  • Possible allergic reactions due to patient contact with any of the components of the formula.
  • Anorexia.
  • Nausea.
  • Vomiting and gastritis .

Important: If you notice the appearance of any of these symptoms or another not included in the list, please stop using it and consult your doctor .

Contraindications and warnings of the dalvear

The use of dalvear® is contraindicated in the following circumstances:

  • Patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula.
  • In children under two years of age.
  • People with active gastric ulcer or gastritis.
  • Patients suffering from renal or hepatic insufficiency.
  • During the pregnancy period.
  • During breastfeeding .

You should know: Before starting treatment with this drug, provide all the information about your health history to your doctor.

Avoid if you have:

  • History of hypersensitivity to dropropizine or bromhexine.
  • Severe gastrointestinal problems such as gastric ulcer.
  • History of liver or kidney disease, as well as diabetes mellitus.

Warnings:

  • Pharmaceutical products such as dalvear® must be administered with a prescription or medical prescription.
  • Avoid exceeding the dose indicated by your doctor.
  • Follow your doctor’s instructions during treatment with this drug.
  • Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
