What is flextrin for?
- Thanks to the action of its active components, flextrin®acts preventively or curatively on the wear of cartilage (tissue that covers the ends of the joints), which happens due to its overuse or a chronic degenerative disease, which leads to different osteoarticular pathologies with annoying associated symptoms. In the same way, this drug actsin the synthesis ofcollagen, a protein necessary for ligaments and tendons.
- It is used to treat:
- Prevention and cure of symptoms caused by osteoarthritis, such as joint pain and swelling and stiffness of movement.
Flextrin dosage and routes of administration
Flextrin®comes as capsules or tablets, containing glucosamine sulfate potassium chloride 300 mg (equivalent to 177.54 mg glucosamine), chondroitin sodium sulfate 200 mg (equivalent to 147.20 mg chondroitin) and vitamin C 25 mg. The administrationis oraland the dosage as a referential may be as follows:
- Adolescents and adults: 1 tablet three times a day, with food.
Flextrin Side Effects
Clinical outcome data indicate that therapeutic treatment with flextrin® may cause some of the following adverse effects in certain patient populations:
- Possible allergic reactions in the patient due to contact with any component of the formula.
- Bloating, nausea, diarrhea , stomach pain, and constipation .
- Risk of increased insulin resistance.
- They can give false high levels of glucose , bilirubin and plasma creatinine.
- False negatives in the fecal occult blood test .
Important: If the patient manifests any of these symptoms during treatment with this food supplement, please temporarily suspend its use and consult your doctor .
Contraindications and warnings of flextrin
The use of flextrin® is contraindicated in the following cases:
- Patient hypersensitivity to any of the components of the food formula.
- Patients with kidney failure.
- Phenylketonuric persons.
- During the pregnancy period.
- During breastfeeding .
