What is rheumophan?

Reumophan® is the name of a commercial line product, which is a medicine that contains the active compounds ketoprofen, chlorzoxazone and thiamine hydrochlorideor also known asvitamin B1. Together they act with an analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect, in joint or musculoskeletal conditions.

What is rheumphan for?

  • Reumophan® is a drug of anti-inflammatory andanalgesic actionas part of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), since the combined compounds of ketoprofen, chlorzoxazone and thiamine act on thecentral nervous systemrelieving and controllingmuscle spasms, in addition to inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandin chemicals. (2)
  • It is used to treat:
    • Rheumatoid arthritis.
    • Neuritis.
    • Joint pain due to excess uric acid.
    • Osteoarthritis.
    • Low back pain.
    • Polyneuropathies.
    • Spasms of muscle tissues.

Dosage and routes of administration of reumophan

Reumophan® comesin boxes with 20capsules or up to 40 capsules and tablets containing 250 mg of the active substance chlorzoxazone, 50 mg of ketoprofen and finally 50 mg of thiamine, which is administered orally. The doses of reumophan® as a reference are:

  • Adults: Administer 1 capsule in a treatment of 3 or maximum 4 times a day.

Rheumophan Side Effects

Reumophan® can bring with it a series of adverse effects depending on each of its active metabolites, some more frequently and are tolerable. Therefore, the best known effects are the following:

Contraindications and warnings of rheumophan
