Barmicil®is a compound synthetic drugmanufactured by the company named “Chemical Laboratories SON ‘S”(1), which combines the anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and vasoconstrictor effect ofbetamethasone, clotrimazoleand gentamicin, whichconstitute its active ingredients. (2)
What is barmicil for?
- Barmicil® and the combination of its active compounds, come togetherto relieve the different dermatoses of the skinhelping to reduce inflammation, disinfect and eliminate fungi and bacteriaor when the possibility of such infection is suspected, thanks to the antibiotic effect of gentamicin and clotrimazole of this dermatological preparation.
- It is used to treat:
- Skin infections by bacteria and fungi.
- Dermatoses that respond to corticosteroids and that are complicated with a secondary infection,caused by organisms sensitive to the components of this preparation. (3)
- Insect bites, wartsanddermatitis.
- Relief of inflammatory manifestations of dermatoses.
Dosage and routes of administration of barmicil
Importantly, the commercial presentation of barmicil® is in depressiblealuminum tube of 100 grand its route of administration is cutaneous, for which a thin layer is applied to completely cover the affected area and the surrounding skin 2 times a day.
- Skin conditions: Apply a thin layer over the area to be treated at least twice a day until symptoms of the condition improve.
Barmicil Side Effects
The use of barmicil® can cause in certain patients some of the following Adverse reactions:
- Allergic reactions due to contact with any of the components of the medication.
- Burning and itching.
- Irritation and dryness.
- F oliculitis and acneiform eruptions.
- Hypopigmentation (lighter than normal skin).
Important: If you experience any of the effects mentioned above, stop using the medicine and consult your doctor.
Contraindications and warnings of barmicil
Treatment with barmicil® compound cream is contraindicated in the following cases:
- Hypersensitivity to contact with any of the components of barmicil®.
- In pregnant women.
- In women who are in the period of breastfeeding.
- In patients with open wounds or damaged skin.
Avoid if you have:
- Viral tuberculous skin lesions.
- Viral infections such as chickenpox and herpes.
- During vaccination.
Warnings:
- Do not apply to children without medical consultation.
- Do not use near eyes.
- Do not use for long periods of time, as it can create resistance.
- Discontinue use if you notice any unfavorable reaction.
