In 2001, Polymekon launched the first of a range of available products: Bio-Alcamid®, a highly biocompatible substance for soft tissue filling. It is stable and, therefore, is used in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, which represents an evolution in implant technology.
In fact, it is an injectable prosthesis that allowsthe implant to be less invasive, permanent and easily removable; It can reach the shape required to adapt to the aesthetic needs of the doctor and the patient thanks to its unique characteristics of plasticity and elasticity.
Bio-Alcamid®has been studied in a multicenter trialby university and hospital departments for three years (in Bari, Milan, Parma, Modena, Bologna, Perugia, Rome, Florence, Siena), obtaining both biologically and clinically satisfactory results.
In 2003, Polymekon launched a new long-lasting absorbable filleron the market : BioinblueTM. This new product is a polyvinyl alcohol gel that sets it apart from all other fillers currently available on the market.
