What is serc?

The serc is asynthetic medicine that belongs to the group of the so-called antivertiginous, that is, to treat dizziness or loss of balance. Its active substance isbetahistine dihydrochloride.

This chemical compound can actby improving blood flow to the inner ear, reducingthe intensity and frequencyof vertigo attacks. (1)

The presentation of serc, is in tablets of 16 mg and 24 mg in box of20 tablets andits administration is an initial dose of half tablet of16 mg three timesa day up to one tablet of 16 mg, 3 doses a day as a maximum dose (48 mg), orally preferably with meals. The doctor may adjust the dose based on the patient’s response.

You should know: The effect of the active components of the serc, begin to take effect after two weeks of continuous treatment, so the treatment should not be interrupted to guarantee its results.

  • In patients with bronchial asthma with a history of peptic ulcer.
  • If you are pregnant.
