Lyrica is a drug with unique characteristics due to its multipurpose use, that is, it is designed totreat the symptoms of various pathologies of neurological origin.
Its active substance is a chemical compound calledpregabalin, used forthe treatment of peripheral neuropathic painin adults and as a combined therapy to treatpartial seizures in patients with epilepsy. (1)
This medicine comes as hard capsules of 25 mg, 50 mg, 75 mg, 100 mg, 150 mg, 200 mg, 225 mg and 300 mg. According to the pathology to be treated, the administration and dose can be between150 mg and 600 mg. Its consumption is orally, with water.
Important: The dose in both children over 12 years of age and adults should besupervised by a specialist doctordue to its chemical composition.
What is lyrica for?

1. Epilepsy

- Allergic reaction to any of the components of lyrica.
- Dizziness, dry mouth, blurred vision.
- Weight gain and/or increased appetite.
- Difficulty concentrating.
- Drowsiness, swelling.
- You may be at risk of kidney failure.
Important: If you notice any of these symptoms while taking lyrica, you should stop using it and notify your doctor.
Contraindications of the lyric
Treatment with lyrica is contraindicated in any of the following cases:
- In patients with sensitivity to any of the components of lyrica.
- In elderly patients with cardiovascular disease.
- In alcoholics and those who abuse prohibited substances.
- During the period of pregnancy or lactation.
