What are the characteristics of intuitive thinking?
Intuitive thinking, to differentiate itself from other concepts, has its own characteristics, which we mention below:
1. It originates in the limbic brain
The limbic brain, also called theemotional brain, is the part of thebrainthat is mainly responsible formanaging creativity and emotions, giving rise to impulsive, unconscious, automatic and rapid behaviors. That is why intuitive thinking has its origin and its headquarters in the limbic brain.
2. It has a high level of complexity
The strategic decision-making process has a high level of complexity, since many of them depend on intuition and not on data, information, Pragmatism or rationality.
In this sense and according to a study, the intuitive thought system is governed by different types of emotions , associations, impressions, it is intuitive, fast and automatic, allowing you to choose the most appropriate decision for the situation among many alternatives. (3)
Note: Intuitive thought should not be confused with Intuitive Knowledge , since the second encompasses all that arsenal of information and data stored in the unconscious, which are available for instinctive reactions.
3. It develops with practice and experience
Both intuition and intuitive thinking are developed through one’s own experience and the different situations that human beings face, but it is also important that Learning is obtained from each situation that must begin as a child.
You should know: The practice through the intervention of activities that encourage creativity and imagination, also favor the development of intuitive thinking .
4. It is torn between truth and belief
One of the peculiarities of intuitive thought is that it is found on the line that divides reason from intuition .
Note: People who do not have Self -confidence , who doubt a lot or who live on other people’s criticism, will always maintain a hard debate between truth and belief, wasting a large part of their lives and their time thinking about what they would have done and they did not.
How does intuitive thinking develop?
Intuitive thinking can be developed through 4 stages of the learning process :
1. Unconscious incompetence
At this stage, the individual tends not to recognize his weaknesses in those skills he needs to grow and may even say that he does not need them.
To highlight: In order to start the optimal development of intuitive thinking, the person must first introspect what they have and what they need, if they really want to develop their intuitive abilities.
Second, recognize that weakness and learn enough to move on to the next stage.
2. Conscious incompetence
At this point, the subject has the will to do things but makes many mistakes and recognizes the lack of skills to satisfactorily complete their tasks.
But at this stage, making mistakes helps reinforce intuitive thinking , since as new experiences arise, the old ones are updated with the recent ones, turning the incompetent into the competent one .
3. Conscious competition
In this sense, in order to develop intuitive thinking, the individual must progressivelyGet rid of the use of the conscious in making routine decisions and use instinct more.
You should know: The correct development of intuitive thinking strengthens Intuitive Intelligence in the same way .
4. Unconscious competition
At this stage, the individual has had many experiences in the practice of some activities, whose procedures are already sufficiently memorized in the unconscious , which can be executed automatically.
This causes the individual to make quick decisions on those tasks and even while performing another task.
