Tramacet® is the registered trademark of a pharmaceutically manufactured synthetic medicine, which uses tramadol and paracetamol as active ingredients , two chemical compounds belonging to the line of analgesic medicines, with an effect on certain acute or chronic ailments in the body .

What is Tramacet used for?
- Thanks to the joint mechanism of action (tramadol/paracetamol), tramacet® acts by binding an M1 metabolite to µ-opioid receptors and weakly inhibiting the reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin. This action allows to enhance the analgesic effect of both substances with a lower individual concentration, for the benefit of patients with pain from various pathologies.
- It is used to treat:
- Moderate to severe, acute and chronic pain. (two)
Dosage and routes of administration of tramacet
The presentation of tramacet® is in the form of tablets , which contain 37.5 mg tramadol hydrochloride and 325 mg paracetamol. The administration is orally and the informative dosage can be as follows:
- Children over 16 years of age and adults: 1 or 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours, depending on the patient’s response to pain relief.
Side Effects of Tramacet
Treatment with tramacet® can cause some of the following adverse effects in a certain patient population:
- Possible allergic reactions due to patient contact with any of the components of the formula.
- Itching, skin rash, increased sweating.
- Asthenia, fatigue, hot flashes.
- Abdominal pain, constipation , diarrhea , dyspepsia, flatulence, xerostomia, vomiting .
- Nausea, vertigo, tinnitus and drowsiness.
- Anorexia, anxiety , confusion, euphoria, insomnia , nervousness.
- Hypertension or hypotension, urinary retention .
- Ataxia, seizures, hypertonia, migraine , involuntary muscle contractions, paresthesia, vertigo.
- Amnesia, depression , drug abuse, hallucinations , impotence, nightmares, abnormal thoughts.
- withdrawal syndrome .
Important: If during treatment with tramacet® the patient shows any of these symptoms or another that is not on the list, please stop using it and consult your doctor .
Tramacet contraindications and warnings
Treatment with tramacet® is contraindicated in the following circumstances:
- Patient hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula.
- Patients suffering from acute intoxication with alcohol, hypnotics, centrally acting analgesics, opioids or psychotropic drugs.
- People who are being medicated with MAO inhibitors.
- In children under 15 years of age.
- During the pregnancy period.
- During breastfeeding .
You should know: Before starting treatment with this drug, the patient must provide his doctor with all the information about his health history .
Avoid if you have:
- History of hypersensitivity to any of the components of this medicine.
- History of medication with MAO inhibitors.
Warnings:
- Pharmaceutical products such as tramacet®, must be administered with a prescription or medical prescription.
- You should bear in mind that treatment with this medicine must be supervised by a specialist doctor, so avoid self-medication.
- Follow your doctor’s instructions to avoid possible poisoning episodes.
- Do not alter the dose recommended by your doctor.
