What is spasmopriv?
Spasmopriv®is a synthetically manufactured medicinethat contains as its active ingredient phenoverin(1), a chemical compound that belongs to the line of medicines with antispasmodic effect, to treat somediscomfort caused bydiseases of the gastrointestinal system.

What is spasmopriv for?
- The spasmopriv® thanks to the mechanism of action of its active ingredient, shows a relaxing and analgesic effecton the involuntary and painful contractions (spasms) of the smooth muscle of the gastrointestinal tract, acting mainly on the modulation of the gradient of calcium ions through the cell membrane. - It is used to treat:
- Short-term symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), including intestinalconstipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, leading tocrampingand involuntary spasms.
- Dysmenorrheaof primary type.
Dosage and routes of administration of spasmopriv
The presentation of spasmopriv® is in a box of 12 and 24 capsules with 200 mg of fenoverine, in bubble packaging. The administration is orally and its dosage for information purposes can be as follows:
- Adults: 1 tablet of 200 mg 2 times a day until your doctor tells you to.
Side effects of spasmopriv
Therapeutic treatment with spasmopriv® can cause some of the following adverse effects in certain patients :
- Allergic reactions due to contact with any of the components of the formula.
- Anorexia, dyspepsia, constipation, paralytic ileus.
- Nausea, diarrhea, fever and prostration.
- Jaundice , biliary stasis.
- Agranulocytosis, mild leukopenia, eosinophilia, and thrombocytopenia.
- Aplastic anemia , decreased number of platelets in the blood and hemolytic anemia.
- Hypotension (including orthostatic hypotension) and tachycardia.
- Metabolism disturbances.
- Drowsiness, insomnia , restlessness, anxiety , hypothermia, and blurred vision.
Important: If any of these symptoms or another not included in the list occur during the administration of spasmopriv®, please stop using it and consult your doctor.
Contraindications and warnings of spasmopriv
Spasmopriv® treatment is contracting in the following circumstances:
- Patients with hypersensitivity to any component of the formula.
- People with serious depression of The Central Nervous System
- Patients suffering from subcortical brain damage.
- People with severe cardiovascular disorders or bone marrow depression.
- During the pregnancy period.
- During the Breastfeeding
You should know: Before starting treatment with spasmopriv®, you must provide all the information about your medical history to your doctor.
Avoid if you have:
- History of hypersensitivity to phenothiazines.
- History or presence of liver disease such as liver cirrhosis, acute hepatitis, alcoholic hepatitis, liver cancer, chronic alcohol abuse.
- History of kidney failure.
- History of hyperthermia.
Warnings:
- This pharmaceutical product must be administered under supervision and with a prescription or prescription.
- Notify your doctor immediately about any ailment, which may be associated with the consumption of fenoverine.
