Sensemoc® is the registered trademark of a synthetic medicine that uses acetylcysteine as its active principle , a chemical compound belonging to the line of medicines with mucolytic properties, with an effect on respiratory system conditions .

What is the sensemoc used for?
- Thanks to the mechanism of action of its active principle, sensemoc® dilutes the mucus in the respiratory ducts , making it easier for the mucus to come out when coughing and clear the airways. (two)
- It is used to treat:
- Diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tract such as rhinopharyngitis, sinusitis , tracheitis, bronchial asthma, acute and chronic bronchitis and bronchopneumonia.
Dosage and routes of administration of sensemoc
The presentations of sensemoc® are in a box with a vial containing powder to prepare 100 ml of solution, which contains 2 g acetylcysteine and in a box with 20 effervescent tablets of 200 mg and 600 mg. The administration of this medicine is orally and the dosage as a reference can be the following:
- Solution: Patients over 7 years of age, 10 ml of oral solution 3 times a day (equivalent to 600 mg a day). Children from 2 to 7 years of age, 5 ml of oral solution 3 times a day (equivalent to 300 mg a day).
- Effervescent tablets: Children 6 to 14 years of age, 1 tablet 2 times a day. Adults and adolescents from 14 years of age, 1 tablet 3 times a day.
side effects of sensemoc
Data from clinical studies indicate that therapeutic treatment with sensemoc® may cause some of the following adverse effects in certain patients:
- Allergic manifestations due to patient contact with any of the drug’s components.
- Itching, urticaria and rash.
- Rash and bronchial spasticity.
- Angioedema, tachycardia and drop in blood pressure.
- Headache and fever .
Important: If any of these symptoms appear during treatment with sensemoc®, please stop using it and consult your doctor .
Contraindications and warnings of sensemoc
The use of sensemoc® is contraindicated in the following cases:
- Patient hypersensitivity to the chemical components of the formula.
- Patients with gastroduodenal ulcer .
- During the pregnancy period.
- During breastfeeding ,
- Patients with diabetes mellitus, liver and kidney failure.
- In children under 2 years of age for the oral solution and under 6 years of age in the case of tablets.

Avoid if you have:
- History of hypersensitivity to acetylcysteine.
Warnings:
- Pharmaceutical products such as sensemoc®, must be administered with prescription or medical prescription.
