What is seltaferon?

What is seltaferon used for?
- Seltaferon® contains the substance oseltamivir (similar to zanamivir), which is part of the group of inhibitors of the enzyme neuraminidase (a protein that facilitates the infection of the influenza virus), so that infectious particles are not released influenza A and B (types of influenza or flu viruses). - It is used to treat:
- Influenza virus.

Dosage and routes of administration of seltaferon
Seltaferon® is distributed in a box presentation with 75 mg oseltamivir phosphate capsules, with an oral administration route . Another form is in suspension of 60 ml of oseltamivir. The doses of treatment with seltaferon® in the form of capsules are as follows:
- Adults and adolescents: It is recommended to use 1 capsule of 75 mg once or twice a day, during a treatment of 5 days.
- Children older than 1 year: For such cases it is estimated to administer 1 capsule of 75 mg once or twice a day. This can last in a treatment from 5 to 10 days.

Warnings:
- It is preferable to administer this medicine under a prescription or prescription, even in prophylaxis.
- Keep the drug out of the reach of non-adolescent children.
- Adjust the dose in patients undergoing hemodialysis.
