What is robax gold?

Robax gold® is the registered trademark of a combined synthetic medicine, which uses ibuprofen (1) and methocarbamol as active principles , two chemical compounds belonging to the line of medicines with analgesic, anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxant properties, with an effect on processes of pain in the osteoarticular system .

What is Robax Gold used for?

  • Thanks to the combined mechanism of action of its active ingredients, robax gold® acts on the central nervous system (CNS) blocking muscle contracture reflexes, also preventing pain signals from reaching the brain and also decreases the synthesis of prostaglandins, Molecules responsible for causing inflammation, becoming an excellent analgesic and anti-inflammatory.
  • It is used to treat:
    • Symptoms associated with back pain, muscle contractures and muscle tension .
    • Muscle spasms, sprains and strains.
    • Back pain caused by stress, poor posture and excessive physical activity, tension in the neck muscles and muscle strain.

Dosage and routes of administration of robax gold

The presentation of robax gold® is in tablets or tablets, which contain methocarbamol 500 mg and ibuprofen 200 mg. This drug is administered orally and is dosed as a reference as follows: 

  • Tablets: Adults and children over 12 years of age should take 1 or 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours, depending on the intensity of the pain and at the discretion of the doctor.

  • People with severe kidney failure or liver damage.
  • During the third trimester of pregnancy.
  • In the period of breastfeeding.
  • Children under 12 years of age.

You should know: Before taking combination medications such as robax gold®, the patient must provide all the information regarding their health history to their doctor.

Avoid if you have:

  • History of hypersensitivity to any of the main components.
  • Respiratory conditions such as asthma.  
  • Gastrointestinal conditions.
