What is rantudil?

Rantudil®is a synthetic drug whose active ingredient is acemetacin, a chemical compound that belongs to the line of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, which serves for therelief of osteoarticular conditions mainly.

What is rantudil for?

• Rantudil®is an anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and analgesicthat acts by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins and the release of histamine, acting as an antagonist of bradykinin and serotonin, producing relief from discomfort in patientswith conditions caused by inflammatory processes, mainly in the joints.
• It is used to treat:
  • Joint and non-articular rheumatism such as myositis, fasciitis and bursitis. (2)
  • Acute attacks of gout that impede joint mobility.
  • Chronic rheumatic arthritis orosteoarthritis.
  • Lumbosciatica.
  • Inflammation of superficial veins such as thrombophlebitis and other blood vessels such as vasculitis.
  • Swelling and edema after surgery and trauma.
  • Conditions characterized by pain and inflammation, particularly in large joints and spine. (3)

Dosage and routes of administration of rantudil

Rantudil® is sold in boxes with 14 and 28 capsules, with acemetacin in 60 mg. The administration isOrium and the dose under medical recommendation can be the following:

• Adults: 1 capsule two or three times a day depending on medical opinion.

Treatment with rantudil® may cause certain patients, some of the following side effects :

• Possible allergic reactions due to contact with any component of the formula.
• Possible nausea, Vomiting , abdominal pain, and diarrhea .
• Tinnitus, headache, drowsiness, dizziness and tiredness may appear.
• Loss of appetite, occult blood in the stool , and gastrointestinal ulcer may occur.
• On rare occasions it can cause anxiety , confusion, psychosis, and Hallucinations .
• Hyperhidrosis.
• may also appear .
• Edema and increased systemic blood pressure.

Important: If any of these symptoms appear during treatment with rantudil® or any other not included in the list, please stop using it and notify your doctor .

Contraindications and warnings of rantudil

Rantudil® is contraindicated in the following circumstances:

• Hypersensitivity to any of the formula’s components.
• In patients under 14 years of age.
• During the last trimester of pregnancy and during lactation .
• In patients with unresolved dyshematopoiesis.

To highlight: Provide all the information to your treating doctor about your health history , before starting treatment with rantudil®.

Avoid if you have:

• Hypersensitivity to indomethacin .
• Active peptic ulcer .

Warnings:

• Rantudil® must be administered with a prescription or prescription.
• Pharmaceutical products such as rantudil®, should preferably be consumed with food.
• There may be exacerbation of some psychological disorders during treatment with this drug.
• Medications such as rantudil® should be kept out of the reach of children.
• Keep this product stored in a cool, dry place.
