- Nootropil® is a drug known to be a nootropic, named for being a neurotransmitterenhancer in the treatment of the brain (more specifically on the cerebral cortex) and cognitive response function, thishelps with brain performance, memory, brain endurance and learning. (2)
- It is used to treat:
- Alzheimer’s disease.
- Mental deterioration.
- Psycho-organic syndrome.
- Learning disorders.
- Cortical myoclonus.
Nootropil dosage and routes of administration
Nootropil® is a type of drug, found in box presentation with 30 tablets up to a maximum of 60 tablets of 800 mg of Piracetam, with an oral route of administration. The most recommended doses of nootropil® in a treatment are the following:
- Adults: It is recommended to administer cut tablets (for a weight of 2.4 g or 4.8 g) for two to three times a day, depending on the condition diagnosed by your doctor.
- Children under 12 years: For learning disorders in the pediatric population, only 3.2 g tablets are recommended once a day.
Nootropil Side Effects
Nootropil® is a medication that stimulates brain functions, therefore it is normal to have some adverse effects with a certain frequency, of which it is worth being aware of their sudden appearances. The most common reactions are the following:
- Drowsiness.
- depression .
- Asthenia (chronic tiredness).
- Hyperactivity

Contraindications and warnings of nootropil
Nootropil® is not indicated for a certain patient population, because it can have a negative interaction with different conditions,which can be very harmful for the patient undergoing treatment. Therefore, do not use it in these cases:
- Hypersensitivity to the active substances of the formula.
- End-stage renal failure.
- Pregnancy and lactation .
- Cerebral hemorrhage.
Avoid if you have:
- Severe bleeding.
- Hemostasis (defense mechanism that stops hemorrhagic processes).
- Surgeries.
Warnings:
- It is recommended to use the medicine under a previous medical prescription.
- Keep the drug out of reach of children
- Keep this medication sealed in a dry environment.
- The drug can be kept at room temperature.
