What is lasilacton?

Lasilacton®is the registered trademark of a synthetic drugmanufactured in the pharmaceutical industry, which usesfurosemideandspironolactone as active ingredients, chemical compounds that belong to the line of drugs with diuretic effect, to treat diseases in important organs of the body.

What is lasilacton for?

  • Thanks to the mechanism of action of its active substances, lasilacton®produces a decrease in sodium reabsorptionandpotassiumexcretion as well as being a powerful diuretic of rapid onset, in order to maintain the chemical balance of electrolytes andtreat or prevent diseases of theheart, liver and kidneys.
  • It is used to treat:
    • Ascites in patients with liver disorders such as liver cirrhosis.
    • Edema and congestion of the lungs due to heart failure. (2)
    • Edema in patients with nephrotic syndrome.
    • Patients with hyperaldosteronism. (3)

Dosage and routes of administration of lasilacton

Lasilotton®comes as a box with 16 or 20 capsules, containing spironolactone 50 mg and furosemide 20 mg. The administrationis oraland the dosage as a referential may be as follows:

  • Usual dose: In the first three to six days of treatment one capsule up to four times a day, according to the doctor’s indication and the individualized diagnosis.

Side effects of lasilacton

Clinical studies indicate that the therapeutic use of lasilacton®may cause in certain patients, some of the following side effects:

  • Possible allergic reactions due to contact with any of the components of the formulation.
  • Increased excretion of water and certain electrolytes, such assodiumcalciummagnesium, and chlorine.
  • Dehydration and hypovolemia.
  • Increased creatinine andtriglycerides.
  • Hyponatremia, hypochloremia, hypokalemia, hyponatremia.
  • Increase in serumlevels of cholesterol, uric acid and gouty arthritis attacks.
  • Diabetesmellitus may develop.
  • Pseudo-Bartter syndrome.

Important: If any of these or other symptoms appear not listed, pleasediscontinue use and notify your doctor.

Contraindications and warnings of lasilacton

The use of lasilacton®is contraindicatedin the following cases:

  • Hypersensitivity of the patient to any of the components of the formula.
  • Hypersensitivity to sulfonamides (sulfonamides and sulfonylurea antibiotics).
  • Patients with acute renal failure or anuria.
  • People suffering from hypovolemia or dehydration with or without hypotension, hyperkalemia or severe hyperkalemia.
  • During the period of pregnancy.
  • In women during the breastfeedingperiod.

You should know: Giveall information about your health history to yourdoctor before starting treatment with lasilacton®.

Avoid it if you have:

  • History of hypersensitivity to furosemide, spironolactone, sulfamides, or sulfonylureas.
  • Severe hyponatremia, precoma states and coma associated with hepatic encephalopathy.

Warnings:

  • Products such as lasilacton® must be administered with a prescription or prescription.
  • Follow your doctor’s directions during treatment with this drug.
  • The use of this medication requires ongoing medical supervision.
  • Do not administer this drug together with other medicines for other pathologies, without proper medical authorization,
