What is festivity?
Festomar® is a medicine resulting from the combination of two active principles that are doxylamine (1) and pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), which together cause an effect to reduce nausea and vomiting , being a drug belonging to the line of antihistamine medications.

What is festomar used for?
- Festomar®, due to its mechanism of action, produces an antiemetic effect that is used for the treatment of some gastric disorders in women during a certain stage of pregnancy.
- It is used to treat:
- Nausea and vomiting that originate during the first months of pregnancy. (3)
Dosage and routes of administration of festomar
The presentation of festomar® is in prolonged-release capsules, with 10 mg of doxylamine and 10 mg of pyridoxine hydrochloride, in a box with 30 capsules. Administration is orally and the recommended dose may be as follows:
- Pregnant women: In case of morning sickness, take two capsules at bedtime. In the case of persistent nausea during the day, take one capsule in the morning and one in the afternoon.

The intake of festomar® can cause some of the following adverse effects in certain patients :
- Possible allergic reactions due to contact with any component of the formula.

- Drowsiness and blurred vision.
- urinary retention .
- bronchial hypersecretion.
- Uncommon asthenia, orthostatic hypotension, peripheral edema, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea .

Contraindications and warnings of festomar
Treatment with festomar® is contraindicated in the following cases:
- Hypersensitivity to any component of the formula.
- In patients with asthmatic attacks.
- In people with porphyrias and hyperemesis gravidarum.
- Do not use in patients with health conditions that may be impaired by anticholinergic effects.
- Do not administer during lactation .
