What is the durater used for?
- Durater® serves as an antagonist of histamine (an amine substance related to stomach functions, neurotransmitters of the central nervous system and the immune system), specifically of type II receptors, that is, famotidine manages to reduce acidity levels gastric acid that are generated by the secretion of hydrochloric acid in the stomach and gastrointestinal system. - Gastroesophageal reflux or reflux esophagitis .

Durater dose and routes of administration
Durater® is available in yellow boxes with 10 tablets of 20 mg (durater® 20 mg) or 40 mg (durater® 40 mg) of famotidine, having an oral route of administration. Durater® doses are generally as follows:
- Adults: One 40 mg tablet can be administered before going to bed or, failing that, 1 20 mg tablet twice a day, present in medical prescriptions for the treatment of reflux esophagitis, peptic ulcer and the syndrome of Zollinfer Ellison.
To highlight: There are no studies that ensure the administration of durater® or famotidine during pregnancy, or in pediatric patients, although it has no effect during lactation.
