Dualgos® is the name of a synthetic combination medicine manufactured by thelaboratory Liferpal MD(1), made with the active ingredients, paracetamol / Ibuprofen, chemical substances with analgesic and anti-inflammatory benefits.
What is dualgos for?
- Dualgos thanks to its active ingredients paracetamol and ibuprofen, belongs to the category of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such asacetylsalicylic acid, a group of drugs that act to inhibit the production of prostaglandin molecules®.
- It is used to treat:
- Headache, pains associated with menstruation anddental pain. (2)
- Muscle and joint pain associated with osteoarthritis.
- Rheumatoid arthritis, gouty arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. (3)
- Lumbago.
- Feverand inflammation. (4)
Dosage and routes of administration of dualgos
Dualgos® comes as a box of 10 and 20 tablets and each tablet containsparacetamol DC 90 and ibuprofen DC 90, equivalent to 325 mg of paracetamol and 200 mg of ibuprofen. Thedose and administration is usually as follows:
- Tablet: In adults and children over 12 years of age, it is recommendedaccording to data from the Summary of Product Characteristics, a dose of one or two tablets every 4 or 6 hours depending on the intensity of the discomfort, butthe medical recommendation is suggested, with administration only orally with water. Dualgos Side Effects
The combination of dualgos®paracetamol-ibuprofen DC 90may affect the central nervoussystem and theperipheral system, which may cause certain adverse reactions in some patients such as:
- Nausea.
- headache.
- Decreased sugar or glucose.
- Reduced production of White blood cells .
- Decreased red blood cells (anemia) and neutropenia.
- Thrombocytopenia and jaundice .
- Kidney damage.
Important: It is recommended to suspend the use of this medicine , if you observe any of the symptoms described or any other not included in the list.
Dualgos contraindications and warnings
Dualgos® is contraindicated for patientswith the following circumstances:
- Allergies or hypersensitivity to the active ingredients.
- Patients at risk of anemia .
- Children under 12 years.
- Disorder of bleeding in the stool through the gastrointestinal tract.
- Peptic ulcers of the esophagus.
- Do not administer during pregnancy or lactation.
You should know: It is advisable to review your medical history with your doctorbefore starting treatment with dualgos®.
Avoid if you have:
- Hepatic failure conditions.
- Severe malnutrition.
- Anticoagulant medication.
- GI bleeding.
Warnings:
- Pharmaceutical items belonging to the NSAIDs class, such as dualgos®, must be supervised by a doctor.
- The sale of this medicine must be with restrictions and with previous presentation of a medical prescription.
- Ask your doctor or pharmacist for information about the effect that NSAIDs can cause.
