Doltrix® is a synthetic drugmanufactured from lysine clonixinate and butylhyoscine, whose combination exerts an analgesic, anti-inflammatory and spasmolytic action, aimed especially at the smooth muscles of the digestive and gastrointestinal system. What is doltrix for?
- Doltrix® is used for the treatment of symptomatic or visceral pain due to gastrointestinal diseases orconditions, as well as pain associated with surgical procedures performed on the digestive tract.
- It is used to treat:
- Gastrointestinal tract pain such as cholelithiasis, cholecystitis, irritable bowel syndrome and diverticulitis.
- Genitourinary pain such as renal, ureteral, bladder colic, urolithiasis, visceral pain, bladder colic, epididymitis and orchiepididymitis, obstruction of the digestive tract.
- Dysmenorrhea. (2)
- Post-surgical pain in gynecological specialties, general surgery, proctological surgery andhemorrhoids. (3)
Dosage and routes of administration of doltrix
Under medical recommendation, doltrix®can be administeredaccording to the following indications:
- In tablets: One tablet contains 250/10 mg of the active components, based on this only one or two tablets a day are recommended, according to medical recommendation.
- In solution for injection or ampoules: Intramuscularly 1 vial every 6 or 8 hours depending on the intensity of the pain.

- Allergic reactions due to contact with some of its components.
- Oral dryness, hypotension and Vomiting .
- Itching and blistering of the skin.
- Tachycardia and increased blood pressure.
- Urinary retention , dizziness and constipation.
- Dilated pupils and drowsiness.
Contraindications and warnings of doltrix
Doltrix® is contraindicated in the following circumstances:
- Patients with allergies or hypersensitivity to the active ingredients (especially lysine clonixinate).
- Alcoholic patients and in treatment with other medications.
- People with arrhythmias (impaired heartbeat) or heart failure.
- People with obstruction in the urinary and intestinal tracts.
- Dysfunctions in the optic nerve.
- Pregnant and lactating women, as well as children under 12 years of age.
Avoid if you have:
- Peptic ulcer .
- Gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Hiatal hernia associated with gastric reflux.
Warnings:
- Do not use doltrix® if you are consuming alcohol.
- Suspend its administration in the presence of gastrointestinal disorders.
- Do not consume doltrix® without medical supervision, if you are taking medication for other pathologies.
