What is cobedine?

Cobedina® is the trademark of a synthetically manufactured combined medication that uses loratadine and betamethasone as active ingredients , two chemical compounds belonging to the line of medications with steroidal anti-inflammatory and antihistamine effects, which act on allergic conditions of different etymologies .

What is cobedin used for?

  • Thanks to the combined action of its active principles, cobedina® generates an anti-inflammatory, corticosteroid and anti-allergic effect, being a potent antihistamine with non-sedative peripheral H1 receptor antagonist activity, for the relief of the characteristic symptoms of many allergic processes in the body . .  
  • It is used to treat:
    • Severe symptoms of atopic dermatitis, angioedema, urticaria, seasonal and perennial allergic rhinitis. (two)
    • Food and drug allergic reactions .
    • Seborrheic dermatitis, neurodermatitis, allergic asthma.
    • Allergic ocular manifestations such as conjunctivitis and iridocyclitis.
    • Allergic reactions to insect bites.

Dosage and routes of administration of cobedin

The presentation of cobedina® is in the form of a box with tablets containing loratadine-betamethasone 5 mg/0.25 mg. Cobedina® is administered orally and the dosage as a reference may be as follows:

  • Tablets: Adults and children over 12 years of age, one tablet every 12 hours. 

Cobedine Side Effects

Data from clinical studies describe that the use of cobedina® has caused in a certain population of people , some of the following adverse reactions: 

  • Possible manifestations of allergies due to patient contact with any of the components of the drug.
  • Fatigue, headache and drowsiness.
  • Dry mouth, nausea and gastritis .
  • Alopecia and liver disorders.
  • Sodium retention and potassium loss .
  • Fluid retention and myasthenia gravis.
  • Congestive heart failure in sensitive patients, arterial hypertension.
  • Muscle weakness, corticosteroid myopathy, loss of muscle mass.
  • Peptic ulcer with the possibility of perforation.
  • Seizures and vertigo.
  • Euphoria, severe depression and insomnia .

Important: If any of these symptoms appear during cobedine® therapy, please stop treatment and notify your doctor .

Contraindications and warnings of cobedine

The use of cobedina® is contraindicated in any of the following cases:

  • Patient hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula.
  • In patients with systemic fungal infections.
  • In people suffering from prostatic hypertrophy.
  • In patients with high calcium levels or urinary retention.
  • In children under 12 years of age.
  • During the pregnancy period.
  • In breastfeeding .

You should know: Before starting treatment with this combination drug, be sure to provide your doctor with all the information related to your medical history .

Avoid if you have:

  • History of hypersensitivity to antihistamines and corticosteroid medications.
  • Gastrointestinal diseases considered serious or severe.

Warnings:

  • Follow your doctor’s instructions during treatment with this drug.
  • Do not exceed the indicated dose.
