What is carbafen for?
- Carbafen® has a combination of paracetamol 350 mg and methocarbamol 400 mg, which act on thecentral nervous system (CNS) and on receptors that detect pain.

Dosage and routes of administration of carbafen
The presentation of carbafen® is in tabletsper box of 30 pieces. The route of administration is oral with water and the dose may be as follows:.
- Adults and children over 12 years: 2 tablets every 6 or 8 hours without chewing.
Side effects of carbafen
The consumption of carbafen® may cause in certain patients, some of the followingside effects:
- Possible adverse reactions due to contact with any component of the formula.
- Dizziness, lightheadedness and nausea.
- Possible hives, conjunctivitiswith nasal congestion.
- Itching and rash.
- Rarely, laryngeal edema, angioedema, and agranulocytosis.
Important: If any of these symptoms occur during treatment with this drug or another not included, discontinue its use and consult your doctor.
Contraindications and warnings of carbafen
The use of carbafen®is contraindicated in the following cases:
- Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula.
- During pregnancy.
- In patients with bleeding disorders.
- In patients with renal insufficiency.
- In people with activepeptic ulcer.
To highlight: Before starting treatment with carbafen®, it is advisable to give all the information about your health history to your doctor.
Avoid it if you have:
- Kidney disease.
- Anemia.
- Medication with anticoagulant drugs.
Warnings:
- Clinical data indicate that medications such as carbafen® can cause CNS depression, so caution should be exercised when driving vehicles or machinery.
- This medicine should not be consumed with alcoholic beverages.
- It should not be mixed or combined with drugs that stimulate liver enzymes.
- Patients who are treated with pharmaceuticals such as carbafen®, should be warned about the depressant effects on the CNS.
