Brubiol® is a synthetic medication whose active ingredient is ciprofloxacin (1) , a chemical compound with a broad spectrum antibiotic effect to combat bacteria that affect a large number of organs in the human body.

What is brubiol used for?
- Brubiol® has an antibiotic effect, which acts on Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms such as Serratia marcescens , Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Staphylococcus aureus, S. pyogenes. among other bacteria that cause infections, inhibiting their reproduction and development.
- It is used to treat:
- Bacterial infections that cause pneumonia, gonorrhea, and typhoid fever.
- Bacterial infections that cause bronchitis , tuberculosis, cystic fibrosis, sinus, urinary tract, and kidney infections.
- Bacteria that cause infectious diarrhea and infections of the skin , bones, joints, abdomen, and prostate.
- Burns and infected wounds. (3)
Brubiol dosage and routes of administration
Brubiol® is presented in a box with 8 tablets of 250 mg and 10 tablets of 500 mg of ciprofloxacin. The administration of this drug is orally. The dose and duration of treatment will depend on the severity, type of pathology and the judgment of the treating physician, however, and for information purposes, the following is described:
- Tablets: In adults, from 50 to 1500 mg per day for a period between 7 and 14 days, according to medical recommendation. In children, only if necessary from 7.5 to 15 mg/kg/day.

Treatment with brubiol® can cause some of the following adverse effects in certain patients :
- Possible allergic reactions due to contact with any component of the formula.
- Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting and dyspepsia.
- Dolor abdominal, colitis pseudomembranosa.
- Dizziness, headache and tiredness.
- Insomnia , agitation and tremor.
Important: If you notice the appearance of any adverse effect or of another not included in this list, stop taking it and consult your doctor .
Contraindications and warnings of brubiol
The use of brubiol® is contraindicated in the following circumstances:
- Hypersensitivity to any of the drug components.
- In pregnant or lactating women .
- In patients with renal insufficiency.
You should know: Before starting treatment with brubiol®, it is advisable to provide your doctor with all the information about your health history.
Avoid if you have:
- Than drive machinery.
- Medication with other drugs to treat other pathologies.
- Some heart problem.
- Any liver disease
Warnings:
- It should not be administered to children or adolescents, due to the risk of complications in the central nervous system .
- Clinical data indicates that during treatment with this pharmaceutical, you should maintain an adequate level of hydration with water.
- Do not consume this drug with alcoholic beverages.
- Medications such as brubiol® must be administered with a prescription or medical prescription.
- Keep this drug out of the reach of children.
