What is biomics for?
- Biomics is a bactericidal antibiotic, since its mechanism of action is based on the inhibition of bacterial synthesis by blocking transpeptidases, preventing the formation of the bacterial wall, causing the relief of infections caused by germs®such as salmonellosis, strainsof group D of Streptococcus, Listeria monocytogenes, Staph, among many other microorganisms.
- It is used to treat:
- Typhoid fever.
- Pharyngotonsillitis.
- Uncomplicated urinary tract infections.
- Sinusitis , otitis media and pharyngitis.
- Tonsillitis, acute bronchitis or exacerbations in chronic bronchitis. (3)
- Uncomplicated gonorrhea andgastrointestinal infections.
Dosage and routes of administration of the biomics
The presentation of the biomics® is usually incapsules of 400 mg inbox with 6 capsules. Other laboratories use presentations such as200 mg capsules and powder to make suspension. In all cases, the administration is oral and the dose is as follows(4):
- Adults and children over 12 years of age or weighing more than 50 kg: 400 mg single dose per day.
- Children: 8 mg/kg single dose.
Note: For other more complicated cases, the treating physician should be consulted .
Biomics Side Effects
Biomics® treatment may cause some of the following Adverse effects in certain patients :
- Possible allergic reactions due to contact with any component of the formula.
- Possible appearance of pruritus, rash, erythema multiforme and epidermal toxic necrosis.
- Syndrome
- Hepatitis from jaundice .
- Headache and dizziness.
- Thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, neutropenia and eosinophilia.
- Genital itching, vaginitis and genital candidiasis.
- Vomiting , diarrhea , nausea.
Important: If during treatment with this drug any of these symptoms or another not included in the list appear, please discontinue use and notify your doctor.
Contraindications and warnings of biomics
The use of biomics® is contraindicated in the following cases:
- Hypersensitivity to any of the formula’s components.
- During the period of pregnancy or lactation .
- Children under 6 months of birth.
You should know: It is advisable to provide your doctor with all the information about your medical historybefore starting treatment with biomics®.
Avoid if you have:
- Renal insufficiency.
- Hypersensitivity to other beta-lactam compounds.
Warnings:
- This pharmaceutical product must be administered with prescription or medical prescription.
- The concomitant use of cephalosporins such as biomics® plus aminoglycosides increases the potential for nephrotoxicity.
- Follow your doctor’s instructions during treatment with biomics®.
- Keep this medicine out of the reach of children.
- Store this drug in a cool, dry place.
