Antiflu-des®is a synthetic compound drugthat belongs to the line of influenza medicines, formulated with three active ingredients that areparacetamol, amantadine hydrochloride andchlorphenamine maleatewith analgesic, antihistamine and antiviral effect. (1)

What is antiflu-des for?
- The antiflu-des® thanks to its chemical components, is indicated in thetreatment of some common respiratory diseases.
- It is used to treat:
- InfluenzaA virus and its accompanying symptoms. (3)
- The flu and accompanying symptoms such asfever, muscle pain, headache andrunny nose.
Dosage and routes of administration of antiflu-des
The presentation of the antiflu-des®, isboxed with 24 capsules or tablets containing 300 mg of paracetamol, 50 mg of amantadine hydrochloride and 3 mg of chlorphenamine maleate. It is also sold insyrup and pediatric solution. The route of administration is oral and its dosage is as follows:
- Tablets or capsules: Adults and children over 12 years of age, one capsule every 6 or 8 hours with a duration of 5 continuous days.
- Syrup: Children 3 to 5 years of age, 1 tablespoon or 5 ml every 8 hours; Children 6 to 12 years of age, 1 tablespoon or 10 ml, every 8 hours.
- Solution: Children from 2 to 3 years, 2 drops per kilogram of weight three times a day every 8 hours.
Side effects of antiflu-des
The use of antiflu-des® can cause certain adverse effects in some patients, such as the following:
- Possible allergic reactions due to contact with any component of the formula.
- Nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.
- Anemia and liver damage.
- Some disorders of the central nervous system such as insomnia , headache, dizziness, confusion, hallucinations , among others.
- Rarely difficulty urinating.
- Rash, urticaria and pruritus.
Important: If you notice any of these symptoms or any other not included in the list, stop treatment and consult your doctor.
Contraindications and warnings of antiflu-des
Treatment with antiflu-des® is contraindicated in the following cases:
- Hypersensitivity to any of the components of the pharmaceutical formula,
- In patients with active liver disease.
- Psychiatric or neurological disease.
- If you are pregnant or lactating .
- In people with a history of depression .
- Children under 12 years of age.

Avoid if you have:
- severe liver damage.
- Uncontrolled cardiac arrhythmias.
- History of seizures or epilepsy.
- Medication with anticoagulant drugs.
Warnings:

- Pharmaceutical products such as antiflu-des®, must be administered with prescription or medical prescription.
- Avoid consuming this medication with alcoholic beverages.
- Keep this product out of the reach of children.
- Keep this drug stored in a dry and cool place.
