Alzam® is the registered trademark of a synthetic medicinethat contains as active ingredientalprazolam, a chemical compound belonging to a line of psychotropic medicineswith effect on thecentral nervous system (CNS).

What is the alzam for?
- Thanks to the mechanism of action of its active ingredient, alzam®acts at the level of the limbic, thalamic and hypothalamicregions located in the CNS, producing a depression of its activity causing sedation, hypnosis, muscle relaxation and anticonvulsant activity. (2)
- It is used to treat:
- Patients with panic attacks (panic attacks with agoraphobia or without agoraphobia).
- Generalized anxiety,anxietywith symptoms ofdepressionand prevention of panic attacks.
- Symptoms such as tension, fears, apprehension, fatigue, difficulty concentrating, irritability, insomniaand / or autonomic hyperactivity from states of anxiety.
- The chronic phaseof alcohol withdrawal, other depressants and other conditions associated with anxiety.
Dosage and routes of administration of alzam
Alzam® comesas a box with tablets, containing 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg and 1 mg of alprazolam. The administrationis oraland the dosage as a referential may be as follows:
- States of anxiety: Adults one tablet of 0.25 to 0.50 mg, administered 3 times daily in divided doses.
- Alterations related to panic attacks: One 0.5 to 1.0 mg tablet swallowed at bedtime, which should be adjusted by the doctor according to the patient’s response.
side effects of alzam
Therapeutic treatment withazam® may cause some of the following adverse effects in a certain patient population:
- Possible allergic reactions of the patient due to contact with any of the components of the formula.
- Lightheadedness, blurred vision , incoordination.
- Gastrointestinal symptoms, variations in body weight and autonomic manifestations.
- Headache , depression, insomnia and fear.
- Alterations in memory and/or amnesia.
- Agitation, difficulty concentrating, confusion, Hallucinations .
Important: If the patient experiences any of these symptoms or other symptoms not included in this list, please stop using this medicine and consult your doctor .
Contraindications and warnings of theazam
The use ofazam® is contraindicated in the following circumstances:
- Patient hypersensitivity to alprazolam, benzodiazepines or any component of the drug.
- Patients with angle-closure glaucoma or myasthenia gravis.
- During the pregnancy period.
- During breastfeeding .
- Severe liver failure.
- Patients under 18 years of age.
To emphasize: Provide all the information regarding your health history to your doctor, before starting treatment with this drug.
Avoid if you have:
- History of hypersensitivity to alprazolam or benzodiazepines.
- Associated risk of encephalopathy.
Warnings:
- Pharmaceutical products such asazam® must be administered with a prescription or prescription.
- Treatment with this product must be under medical supervision.
- Avoid consuming this drug with beverages containing alcohol.
- Follow your doctor’s instructions during treatment with this medicine.
- Notify your doctor if you are being medicated with other drugs for other pathologies, especially with CNS depressants.

- Prolonged use of alprazolam can cause dependence.
